About Reilly Media

Exceptional websites. No templates, no monthly rent.

I'm Scott Reilly — a web designer, AI director, and entrepreneur with over 20 years building websites, based in Douglas County, Nevada and offering services nationwide. I use AI as a production tool to build sites faster than any traditional shop can match, then apply two decades of taste and judgment that make the output actually good.

Why Reilly Media exists

Small businesses deserve better than templated themes.

Most agencies build the same site for everyone — a page-builder template, a stack of plugins, and a monthly bill for hosting they don’t really do anything with. The site gets slower every year, the dashboard becomes a graveyard of half-finished blog posts, and when you ask to make a small change you’re told it’ll be a “quote.”

Reilly Media is the alternative. Every site is produced using AI I direct — the same way a filmmaker directs a crew. The AI handles the production workload at speed; I supply the taste, the judgment, and the knowledge of what your business actually needs. The result is a fully custom site built in days, owned by you outright, and tuned to load before your visitor’s coffee touches the table. No retainers, no lock-in, no plugin-update Tuesdays.

And I don’t disappear at launch. I set you up to run the site yourself — a free AI editor, clear guardrails, and a plain-English workflow so you can change text, photos, video, and layout without breaking anything. Think of me as your AI director: I hand you the tools and keep you current as AI reshapes how small businesses market online.

The person behind the sites.

I’m Scott — web designer, AI director, and occasional dog-walker, running Reilly Media out of Douglas County, Nevada, and offering services nationwide. I’ve spent over 20 years building websites — more than 15 of them building sites for law firms — and I started this because I kept watching small businesses get sold overpriced, underperforming websites by agencies that treated them as tickets, not clients.

The shift to AI production didn’t change what I care about — it just means I can deliver what used to take a three-person team in a fraction of the time. The Sierra Nevada is a great place to think clearly about what actually matters: taste, judgment, and work that outlasts the relationship.

What I believe

Six principles every project ships with.

Speed is a feature

Every second of load time costs you customers. Sites I build are tuned for performance from the first commit and stay that way — no slow plugin from 2017 to debug.

You own the work

The code lives in a Git repository I hand over to you on day one. Move it anywhere, hire anyone to maintain it. Not rented. Not hostage to a platform's pricing changes.

Fewer projects, more care

I take on a small number of clients at a time so your project is never sitting in a queue. You talk to me directly — not a junior account manager, not a chatbot, not a ticket system.

Privacy by default

No Facebook pixels. No Google Tag Manager. No fingerprinting. Self-hosted fonts, inline SVG icons, zero third-party requests. Your visitors don't get tracked because they read your About page.

You stay in control

I hand you the keys, not a lease. You own the code, and I set you up to edit it yourself with AI — so your site is something you run, not something you rent. I stay your AI director, in your corner as the tools evolve.

Straight talk, fixed prices

You get a fixed quote up front and honest answers throughout — no hourly meters, no surprise line items, no upsell to something you don't need. If a job isn't the right fit for me, I'll tell you and point you to someone better.

What's included

One fixed price. Everything ships.

I don't bill hourly and there are no surprise line items. Every Reilly Media project includes the full stack — from kickoff conversation to live custom domain.

  • Custom visual design (no templates, no themes)
  • Lean Hugo build with hand-written HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Mobile-responsive layouts tested on real phones and tablets
  • Self-hosted fonts and inline SVG icons — zero third-party requests
  • Technical SEO: structured data, sitemaps, meta tags, canonical URLs
  • Zero-bleed migration: every old URL 301-redirected so rankings carry over
  • Custom 404 page and graceful redirects from your old URLs
  • Cloudflare Pages deployment with global CDN, SSL, and DDoS protection
  • A working contact form wired straight to your inbox
  • Thirty days of post-launch support and tweaks
  • Full source code and content delivered to you on day one

The stack

Intentionally boring. Battle-tested.

The tools I reach for have been around long enough to be trusted by serious teams, and simple enough that any developer you hire later can pick them up in an afternoon.

Hugo

Static site generator. Pre-renders every page at build time so the browser gets HTML, not a JavaScript factory.

Cloudflare Pages

Global CDN, free SSL, automatic deploys, DDoS protection. Built on the same edge network that fronts a huge slice of the web.

Git + GitHub

Every change tracked, every deploy logged, every version of your site recoverable forever.

Vanilla HTML/CSS/JS

No React, no Vue, no build chains your future developer needs to learn before they can fix a typo.

Claude AI

The AI production tool I direct. Handles generation speed and code volume so a one-person shop can produce agency-quality output — without the agency headcount.

VS Code

The free editor I set you up with so you can edit your own site in plain English with AI — swap photos, change text, add video, all inside the guardrails I build in.
